I just got a new 08 Cayenne and am curious about a few things.
#1, Where are all u guys from? Same area, different areas?
#2, I want to get a hitch on my truck, for bike/snowboard rack. Dealer quoted me $2500. any other ideas?
#3, Ipod/Serius. Im looking to add these aftermarket to my PCM. The #s people are quoting me are kind of ridic. Any ideas?
Thx, i will get a pic up soon, but right now its at the dealer getting a new wheel and tire. 600 Mi in, the sidewall blew and ruined the wheel too. I get it back tomorrow.

Welcome
We are from all over the world.
The tow hitch price is normal for a dealer but for what you want you can add an aftermarket hitch which will cost you about $150 plus fitting by any shop. Or you can do it yourself if your handy.
The best iPod / Sirius adapter is by mObridge (www.mobridge-usa.com) I have that combination in my S. It can be done DIY but you will need to install the supplied bypass switch so the dealer doesn't start getting ansi because of aftermarket stuff being fitted and try to void warranty.

mudman2:
What does the by pass switch do ? DO you have pics of your install and where you mounted the switch? When do you use that switch? I have a 06 Cayenne S and a 05 997 S that i would like to install mobridge on. Thanks
Andy

The bypass switch make the MOST bus think that there is no CDC attached so PIWIS will not detect it. It can be mounted out of sight anywhere. I did not use it as I am out of warranty but I did test it during install
I have some install pix here

So i have a 06 cayenne and it has a CDC in the trunk. Do i jsut install the mobridge onto the cdc section and use the bypass switch or i do not need the bypass switch ?
my 05 997 doesn't have CDC so i assume that needsthe bypass switch ?

You cannot have 2 devices that look like a CDC connected, so the CDC on the S must go. When a tester is connected it looks for the signature of installed devices so whenever a non OEM part is detected it becomes the reason for whatever is wrong with your car and gives them a reason to deny warranty.
The bypass switch should be fitted to both cars (under warranty) just for safety's sake.

1) I'm in Southern California (Carlsbad), so keep an eye on the Scheduled Events forum - several of us rallye through Mount Palomar/Julian/Ramona ... https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...d.php?t=105360 and https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...d.php?t=100400.
2) I have a hitch (dealer installed). You are welcome to take a look at mine.
3) If you are not a DIYer, check out La Jolla Audio in San Diego for your A/V mods.
4) I'm assuming you are taking your new addition to Pioneer Centres Porsche - those guys offer pretty good services/parts.
Enjoy!
