2 weeks with 08 CTT +PDCC

I picked up the Cayenne almost 2 weeks ago. This suv is down right amazing! It almost feels odd calling it an suv. I can not wait to get into it every morning. I have driven this suv both with and with out pdcc. This option is one you should not pass up if you can.

I also noticed yesterday that the compass display is no where to be found. Read the book, said it was the second item on the settings menu but i just don't see it anywhere. It's an option i ordered and paid for and it's on the sticker of the car. I am curious to see how porsche will handle this.

Does anyone know why the AC/HEAT unit turns on everytime i start the car? How can i stop this?
I already r.t.f.m. and searched here so no bashing on me please

If I toggle down the heat with the outside fan control switch it will not come on again until it's put back in auto.

I did not get the compass but there is one on the center instrument lcd screen (to the left) above the temp gauge.

Congrats on the ride. The compass will appear on the left hand side of the center display in the instrument cluster. There is a setting to turn it one and off. I forget which one it is, I think it is in the "comfort" settings. You navigate to it using the right hand stick off the steering column. If you do not see compass as an option, it is not installed.

It is a quick fix, a software fix to my knowledge.

As for PDCC, that is Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control. See it in action here:

I'm sure PDCC is great but that youtube vid shows the old turbo making "wider" turns. He's much further from the cones than the PDCC equiped 2008 which would exagerate body roll...?

The car always turns on the climate control after it has been off for an hour- it cannot be changed. It bugged me at first, but you'll get used to it just as I did. What can you say? Porsche wants us to be comfortable.

Glad that you are enjoying it, I've been told PDCC is good from new CS and CTT owners too. I saw the pictures online which shows the difference interms of handlings and looks like PDCC is a must have option for me.

i can't wait for mine - anyway, can you turn PDCC on/off? secondly i cannot tell if PDCC is only on with the sport mode? i seem to have read this but also think i remember someone saying that it also worked on comfort setting?

our dealer has not had a PDCC yet so really doesn't know.

PDCC is always on and can not be turned off. Doesnt matter what mode your cayenne is in, its always working.

The 4 month wait was not easy but it was worth it.

The only thing that gets me is that there is no way to make the car start in sport mode. My brother was able to take his Masaritti to the dealer so it can start in sport mode everytime.

Sounds like I should have waited and ordered the PDCC. The lack of memory for the sports setting is somewhat annoying. They should of programmed it the other way around.
