Cayenne Factory Tint - trying to match

Gonna get the front windows tinted for our 08 CS to match the back windows tinted by Porsche. Could someone tell me what kind of tint or % the back windows are from factory? Just want to make sure the front and back match... Thanks in advance...

John, tints are nice on any cayenne it will make the car look much better. I usually don't like SUV or 4X4's without tints they seem to look awkward.

I was considering this as well, however I don't think the stock tint is dark enough. Can a tint shop remove that pretty easily and put on a darker tint for the back?

I think you are going to have to tint over the back. I think the stock tint is part of the glass. I couldn't find a match for the front that's the same as the back. I just tinted all the windows 20%.

You cannot remove the tint from the factory glass as it is in the glass itself. Usually to match the rear, you shoudl go with a 20% film on the fronts. This shoudl be close from the outside of the vehicle but will be darker than the rear when looking out from the inside. That is the cheapest and most effiecient way to match the OEM tint though. If you want something darker, try throwing some 35% over the rear windows and it will have a dramatic effect on the car. As tint is all optical illusion, the less light you can let into the car from anywhere, will make the front windows look darker. Hope this helps.

Here's our Cayenne S w/ nicely matched front tint... prior owner did the work, so don't know what product it is... but near impossible to tell it isn't factory, very clean. Here's the look...

Daylight

In the garage, can see the tint a bit more here...

I did 20% on the rears and 35% on the front........
Now all the windows look like they have 35% tint on them

I love the way it looks but the 35% is a PITA backing up at night
