I have Part # 998.642.257.04 . If your car is 2005/2006 you'll need an firmware upgrade. Porsche charges 2 hours worth of labor for tha 10 minute do it yourself if you have the CD.

If you need either, contact me, I can help!

SLP, I have a 2005 CTT and I damaged the DVD. Is the part you have what I need to get the NAV working? If so, I am interested.

I damaged the disk. The drive, as far as I know, is fine.

Yup I can definitely help you, I have both the DVD and the DVD update for 2005/2006 so that they can play all the newer navigation DVD's. Any 2006+ DVD that Porsche makes will not be compatible with a 2005/2006 car unless it gets the upgraded software--which I have the disc for.

Yup, I'd definitely be willing to help you. I replied you email, should you want to email me direct do it at SLP01005@aol.com.

As I said though, once you upgrade the firmware you will not be able to use your 2005 and previous DVD in the car, only 2006 and newer. And it works the same...that if your 2005 DVD works in your car, a 2006 or above would not without the update.

the updated version has more Points of Interest (POI) and more street names, more details on the map, and the upgrade in firmware upgrades the firmware to play newer DVD's as well as upgrades glitches in the PCM and enhances the Bose amplifier.

It made a huge difference from me going from a 05 to 06 names, now gas stations and such that i search for when im going on my trips actually exist where they say they do! and streets are much better and my house is finally on the correct side of the street with this newer dvd!
