Extended Warranty Experiences

I posted the following on Rennlist and thought I would post here as well as this board seems a little more active:

I know there has been a lot of discussion about extended warranties and I have read pretty much all of the old threads regarding them, but what I have not found out is which ones have people actually used for repairs and which ones do you feel are the best. One nearby dealer pushes EasyCare and another pushes a CNA one. Please let me know who has actually used theres, for what, and would you recoomend buying it.
It is a CS with PCM & PASM among many more options (70k truck), so I could have some pretty big bills if I go naked. The car is an early 04 with no history of problems, just the usual maintence being done. Has anyone used there Extended warranty yet? For those of you naked how has it been repair wise, can you sleep at night? I'm thinking I might just take the risk as I only plan on having the car for a couple of years and the warranties are ranging 3-4k. Also, I live in Chicago and was wondering if anyone had a preferred dealer or repair facility-will go to the suburbs. Please help!!

I bought the Mercury Platinum bumper to bumper warranty which covers my 04 Cayenne Turbo to 100k miles...I am picking up my truck from the dealer tomorrow and had a bunch of things fixed:

1 - Park Assist stopped working
2 - Horn stopped working
3 - Passenger side heated seat stopped working
4 - Rear Console 12v power stopped working
5 - Had transmission oil leak

They had to take apart the entire transmission to fix the leak...the cost of just taking it apart was $1200...every item on the list was fixed and the warranty company paid for everything, no questions asked.

I strongly recommend Mercury Platinum for an extended warranty.

Thanks, I will look into them. Did you get it from a dealer or on the net?

Actually, another member here told me about them and I went with them based on his experience. after buying it, I've had a few other people tell me that they are among the best out there so i'm glad i made the right decision.
