I am probably going to order an Eibach set to put my 05CS down 1.5", Rolling with 22x10 Technos w/ 295/40/22 Falken's...........Based on what I've read H&R's are too stiff!

I have been to 4 of the best and most reputable shops Seattle has to offer. Every Single ONE suggested cutting 1/4 of a coil saying that there will be absolutely no difference. Even one shop that only works on lambos, ferraris, porsches etc. They say they know what they are doing and have been doing it for decades. Its all based on the spring rating and some other mumbo jumbo. I was strictly against cutting springs.. Now im confused..

A coil can be cut provided it's got a single spring rate, many of the coils on performance and modern cars have progressive rates meaning that the coil has different resistance and recoil properties as it is compressed, The reason you don't cut these is that you will never be able to cut them all at exactly the same spot, so you often land up with coils which don't have a matching initial rate or, you absolutely cut out the rate that the spring manufacturer intended on being there to absorb the initial part of a bump, so you'll land up with a bouncy ride often associated with the little import cars that have cut coils....
hope this helps....

I drive a base model Honda Fit and I would never ever ever cut my springs lol....This is something that shouldn't even be considered when talking about a Porsche.
