warranty running out in 9 months...
yesterday, i brought our 06 CS for a broken bulb on the driver side turning light...it was covered under warranty but i saw what they were charging porsche...$303...which lead me to ask for a quote on an extended warranty...total care, 36 months/36k more miles, $100 deductible for $3700. my car has 29k miles on it now...
should i get it? i'd like to keep the car for a loooong time...

it's piece of mind.
I probably would if I was going to keep my GTS Looong time.
parts are expensive, plus if you do sell the car before the term is up, I think it is prorated....
but I wouldn't do i t now, wait till the end, see how much you've brought it it, then decide.

I'm curious..Is it an extended Porsche Factory Warranty? Or a 3rd party warranty? I called my local Porsche dealer and they told me they don't offer extended warranties.

Funny we have a lot in common. I sell commercial real estate here in Chicago and have a Cayenne S. I bought the Easycare 36mo/36k mile one from my dealer. I was planning on using it for the first time next week to take care of a few little things that need attention, I will let you know how my experience is.

They always knock you over the head adding an extended warranty on an exisiting vehicle. I just purchased an '06 Cayenne from CarMax with 14 months left on the Porsche warranty, added a 6 year 75,000 mile extended warranty for $1649.00 They add the original 9,100 miles at time of sale to the 75,000 extended, my 955 is covered 'til Dec 2014 or 84,100 miles. Now that is piece of mind!
Read the fine print, tons of posts from people who get screwed by their extended warranty company. Good Luck!
