295/35/21 winter tires? do they exist?

Hi guys,

I live in a region where winter tires would help: Boston & Montreal (Canada). I was wondering if tire makers ever thought of making winter tires big enough to fit the 21 inch Sport and Sport Plus (295/35/21).

Hit me up if any idea.

Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow makes a 21" winter tire. Not sure of the exact size though. Check out TireRack.

I just put the 295/35/21 Pirelli snow and ice's on my 08 GTS and I have to say "They kick ***" It is an absolute huge difference from the summer tires that come stock on them. I highly recommend them.

That's what I am going for. Looks like it's the only tire available anyway.

I don't find it logical to go with 295s on snowy conditions. it's like putting snowboards instead of tires...

You have a point but with the newer tread designs and tire compounds the tire/tread can do a lot of the work. You are correct that you are better off with narrower tires and larger sidewalls in the snow but most people can afford to give up a little performance with the newer tires. I think it all depends on where you live and how you plan to drive your vehicle. Where I live it is mostly cold with maybe 10 snow days a year so giving up a bit of snow performance for looks and works for me.

well considering the fact that it's -1F here now, I'm better off with narrower tires

Since you live in Calgay Canada, you know snow.

How are the tires on the snow and overall during the winter?

I live in Boston, USA and Montreal, Canada.

I am getting a new 09 Turbo S in less than 2 weeks and I need good winter tires. The 21 Pirelli seem to be the only winter tires available.

Thanks
