I took my 2005 Cayenne S in today for the Nav that stopped working.

I learned that my CS just went out of warranty and that it would cost me
a cool $1300 to fix. Apparently the Nav DVD player is not spinning the DVD (it comes on but does not spin the disc), so it acts as if there is no
Nav DVD in it.

What are my more cost effective options?

Bring the nav player to an electronics guy, it shouldn't be that hard, you may even solve it yourself if you open the case of the nav player... since you're out of warranty, don't be scared..

any other ideas?

what other idea could there be other than bringing it to an electronics guy or paying your dealer to replace it...

the only original idea could be trying to fix it by yourself, or go take a look at the dump yards hoping to find a working nav player

I have the nav unit it out (it is the one under the seat on the passenger side),

does anyone know who works on these?
