Got my Cayenne Turbo!! - Now some trim questions

Hey guys,
I finally picked up my Basalt Black 2005 Cayenne Turbo yesterday. Woohoo! It has 19K miles and is nearly flawless. This is the one instance that I can say thank you to the economy.

Anyway, I already have the clear side marker lights ready for install. THe car has the standard silver finish exterior trim but I want to go with the blacked-out trim. So, I just ordered the B & C pillars in black from the dealer, as well as the nametags on the rear gate. I was going to order the window sill trim pieces, the rain gutter pieces and the rocker inlay pieces but wanted to check with you guys first....

I contemplated painting vs. factory black-out parts. Once I heard the prices on the B and C pillars, it wouldn't pay to paint them. Before I order the window sills, raingutters and rocker inlays, I woul dlike to know how hard it is to remove the ones that are there now. Has anyone done this? Any insight is appreciated!

Thanks!
Ken

I'd suggest to get informed very well to avoid potential water leaks when it rains. I should not be too hard but there again, I never done it.

Black outside is the way to go, the silver outside looks more for paps and ma.

The aluminum rocker sills trim is held on with double sided tape, a little heat gun action will take them off, just dont get them too hot.

Thanks Porsche917. I sort of figured that. My bigger concern has to do with the window sill and raingutter trim. Does anyone know what it takes to remove it?

Good call getting the silver trimm blacked-out, the silver trim looks super cheap IMO.

Hey Ken nice job. How much did you steal her for? I have the all blacked out version and love it! Came from the factory like that. I think it was a $1500 option. Anyway enjoy!

If you want to save yourself the trouble of getting that blacked out look you can just buy mine and sell yours!

Its a 320$ option on the 08-09 models. At least for the turbo and turbo S (if ordered new).

$1500 to $2000 afterward
