Proof - more power w/ bypass pipes
Proof - more power w/ bypass pipes
Hit the dragstrip today with no mods other than the Fabspeed bypass pipes installed. Same launch, same shifting, same track.
New best is 13.55@102.09. It did trap as high as 102.2mph. Last time out (12/12/08), the best run was a 13.60@101.67 and that was the best mph of that night.
Not much of a gain but here's the difference. Weight was 5670 tonight and was 5635 last time out - I had more gas in the tank this time around. Looking up weather conditions for differences show that in December 12, the DA (density altitude) was -1053 feet elevation and tonight it was -623 feet elevation. So the weather was also better in December than today.
But regardless it was still a bit faster and quicker with a bit more weight and worse air than the last time it was run. If I were to guess (and using a variety of drag-related calculators to correct air and weight), if it had been run on the same December night then it may have been closer to a 13.43@103.2mph as the measurable difference. And that would put the bypass pipes around 15whp as a gain.
For the die hards:
60' 1.976
330' 5.690
1/8 8.742@81.33
1000' 11.349
1/4 13.554@102.09
