Hi All, New to p-car, looking for a cayenne!

Hi All. It's time for us to get a new SUV. I have been liking the Cayenne for quite a few years now so it's only a natural progression

Kicking my research into high gear, and I will probably have a lot of questions here..

I will be importing from the US and bringing it back to Canada. So far I have gathered that the 05+ are more reliable (is that true)?

Budget's about 30k, and I am hoping to find something that still has warranty. Does this seem unrealistic?

cheers, and bye for now
E.

currently there is a 20% difference in the currency

there will be a 6.1% charge for duty

there will of course be gst and pst

luckily, there is very little conversion to be done----appx 250 dollars----

i imported mine from the usa--it is very straightforward and you will get a very clean vehicle especially if buying from dry southern states

and yes buy it, there is no other suv that will give you so much pleasure

Thanks!

Do you have any suggestions on what states would be better? i am on the west coast so I was naturally looking at LA or OC area since it's drier.

But you made a good point, maybe it's worth it for me to look into texas and surrounding area if there are better deals out there..

Where are you from Canada? Montreal? Toronto? (I'd say you speak French since your nick is "energie" thus from Montreal or Ottawa?)

How far are you looking to go to get your car in the USA?

hmm, upon some more research I find that the v6 engine is the VW VR6 engine, where as the V8s are built by porsche in house. Are the v8s more reliable than the v6s? I have had bad experience with my VW's engine - hesitation on start to be exact..

I have an 05 V6 - never had an probs - 44K miles and runs great. I did drive the Touraeg V6 which supposedly is the same engine but I can tell you it is night and day - the Porsche V6 feels, sounds and drives like a Porsche
