How to pull ECU??

I'd like to pull the ECU and send it out for tuning. Anyone have a how to? I got discouraged at simply disconnecting the battery (there are 2?!) I found the ECU, but can't decide how best to access it. Do you pull the fender liner? Or go from the top? How is it held in? TIA

Once the battery is disconnected your ECU is in the front passenger side in the back corner of the engine. There are three screws to loosen and it pulls/slides out... If you want call the shop tomorrow and we can explain it.

Mrdstr - Maybe your like me and already researched this to death, but if not; you can flash it remotely with the softronic kit and a laptop. Not sure what your ride is - so this is the link for the Cayenne S.

Facing the car: open the hood, walk to the left hand side far corner by the windshield. There is a black plastic cover with 3 fillips plastic clips. Remove that cover and there is the ECU. It is held on by 2 clips. I would buy 2 new clips since I broke both trying to reinstall the ECU. Good luck!

so only disconnect the battery under the seat? Can this be done without pulling the seat bolts?

Hello,

I'm not sure who you have to send the DME to however most tuners should be able to flash this for you in the car.

Best,
Scott
