Should I do my sound system?
Should I do my sound system?
I went to a local shop, very reputable shop
my bro did his sound system there too. He quoted me somewhere around 8grand for changing all the speakers to JL Audio, MB Quart 10"W6 subwoofer and two amplifiers. It will be a clean job so I can still use the trunk. I will also get IPOD and Satellite radio done, probably backup camera and NAV-TV (Another 3+grand for both camera and nav-tv).
I have a question... I know this is not worthed but do you think it is too much money just for a sound system? He quoted me 62hours of labor at 50bucks per hour. Around 3.2 grand itself.
Here are some photos done in my bro's car

Deetz this sounds like a cool thing to do, but I have to warn you from personal experience that when you start to lose hearing it sucks! If at all possible, just leave the stereo stock because you won't realize that you are losing hearing until it is too late, all the damage doesnt happen until years after the initial exposure (in most cases, except for loud and sudden explosions, etc.). Trust me, I am talking from personal experience here (have lost about 90% of hearing), and when you lose hearing the the point where I have it just really shatters your social life
Just give it a second though, take what I said into consideration! Just trying to be a friend and being honest with you

If you're sersiously thinking about spending $5K+ on your Cayenne stereo, call Rick Reus @ (800) 276-8865. Rick is a great guy who performs audio magic. I have 4 of his systems and I can't imagine having anyone else work on my cars.
I PERSONALLY guarantee that he will blow away any JL, MB Quart, McIntosh, etc...
Seriously....he does installs nationwide. Even if you don't buy from him, you owe it to yourself to call him and talk.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation, really I am, but as long as there is a volume control **** I don't think too many people with upgraded stereos will lose their hearing unless they forget to adjust the volume. When the sound hurts your ears you know you shouldn't listen to it that loud.

Stereo's are a great thing, but that is a lot of money to throw into the Cayenne S. You may be better off investing that money into a Turbo instead. Then again, you know I am not an audiophile

Deetz - the beauty of a Reus system is that it is designed to be transported from one vehicle to the next. You buy the system once and you're done. You only have to pay for labor for the removal/reinstall.
If you get another vehicle that uses a different speaker configuration, I believe that Rick Reus will credit you for what you already own.
