aftermarket amps and speakers with stock nav headunit
To each is there own, and it could be possible that your starting to experience some hearing deficiencies.
The Bose system lacks impact, volume, and tonal accuracy, once you start turning it up the EQ curve starts kicking in and lowering the 60-400hz freq response killing the low end, and the upper mid range is pretty bad.
Maybe you should head out and hit up a few local shops in your area and listen to some vehicles with an audio system in it. If you find one professionally integrated, the install will look factory and sound fantastic.

and obviously your right, there proberly are some great aftermarket (expensive) systems out there, but is bose not a top end make? i had a mark levinson system in a jaguar of mine and only that is better than the bose i have in my turbo.
for mass production is it not near the top?
our nissan 350z also has a bose hi-fi it it (standard) and thats great also.
but i confess to not being into top end sounds.
Bose, does make a decent system, but it isn't anything to call top end.
They pretty much own the market, especially with marketing. They market like no other company. Look at the info-commercials.
It is all marketing....
Give it a try sometime if you have some time to kill, go listen to some vehicles.

There is only one bit1
I think that is a very good price.
Caps are alright, but there comes a time that they too become a load on the system and become counter productive. I had 2 Audison amps on a stock base model Cayenne w/o any caps and no ill effect on the vehicles electrical system.
Which shop did you end up going too?
Please provide some feedback after the install also. I think Audison/Hertz would like to know what consumers think of their experience dealing with the shops and equipment out there

I'll def give feedback after the system is complete though. thanks again for your help.
one more question for you. What are your thoughts on putting my dyn tweeter (large format) in the factory mid location? I always have the option of going with a smaller tweeter in the factory location too. (maybe the herz or the less expensive vifa tweet)
My best advice to you though; if you're happy with the bose, don't go listen to any higher end systems. Car audio can get expensive quickly and you don't want to get bitten by the bug.
the dyn would be too low, I had a hard time achieving superior results with the HL70 from Hertz in that location and took a lot of Eq'ing, the tweeter needs to go up higher. The A pillar angled back towards driver seems to be very good also, but requires modifying the A pillar to house the tweeter... a lot of people make the mistake of firing them across or aimed at the window... huge mistake there
