No badge looks best in my opinion.
In my youth i changed badge on my BMW.
I had an M5, but removed the badge and put 518 tdi on it

 

"if you own a rolex, then would you prefer it to have no name?" If they would offer it with no name, I would own it that way for sure. Why does anyone else who isn't interested in watches need to know what it is?

"if you bought a hugo boss suit, would you not like it to have the label?"..I wouldn't care. I couldn't tell you who makes a single one of my suits. Although they are probably all made by the place where I buy them all.

When I debadged the wife's lexus, there was an oval where the lexus symbol was. For a little while, I put a toyota emblem there just to throw people off! None of my cars are badged. I don't buy for others approval, I buy for my own enjoyment. 9/10 of my closest friends have never even seen any of my cars other than the daily drivers and would have no idea what I own.

 

you are by far in the minority then, and comming from a country where "image" is everything??
the simple answer to this is:

why do you think that people/companys etc put badges on things?
if it was as you think then porsche would not put "porsche" on there cars.
why do they put "turbo" on ? because labels sell period.
image sells
labels sell

but false advertising doesnt, that just says " i have fallen short"
