Tailgate Badge Dilemma
Tailgate Badge Dilemma
Guys
I am finally getting around to sorting out a deep scratch and dent in my 2004 Cayenne Turbo tailgate right next to the Cayenne turbo badge. This means the existing badge must be removed and my bodyshop recommended that I do not reuse the old badges as they will not sit right.
So, I have purchased new badges from Porsche but these come as a set with the badges Cayenne, turbo and S. I presume this is to allow all the combinations of Cayenne, Cayenne S, Cayenne turbo and Cayenne turbo S.
My question is, do I just replace the Cayenne turbo as per factory or do I take this opportunity to re-badge it as Cayenne turbo S ? Just seems a shame to waste the S badge.

if you put an S badge on...you might just as well tell people your 5 years younger (like my wife
), and earn $200,000 more than you do.
you will only be kidding yourself.
bin the factory badge and get a nice PORSCHE logo in a contrasting colour (ebay etc)
your choice sir.

put the factory set up back on. Its so sad that some people have to lie to make themselves feel better. I am not referring to you in this case, but if you did put the S, you essentially would fit in that category.

i think there is a strong feeling about this.
not only is it kidding yourself (et al)
but it angers those who have paid a primium to get a turbo S, and for people to "try and copy" or blag it, deminishes there cars.
i have looked at BMW M cars (for example) and thought "thats not that nice/good for a M5"...then to find out it was not the real McCoy.
on a lighthearted note, i was filling up with petrol at my local station when a guy came up to me and said "porsche wont be too happy with you sticking a porsche badge on your SUV" i was shocked and asked him what he ment..he said " sticking porsche badges on your car does not make it a porsche" and walked off....i was gobsmacked, and didnt know weither to laugh or cry..

As it sits right now my 955 Turbo is faster then my 957 Turbo S.....
A few years back I was contemplating doing Cayenne GTS, glad I didn't since Porsche decided to make their own GTS....
