Brembo Big Brake Kit on 2009 Cayenne Turbo at RSS / Stuttgart Performance
We've just installed a Brembo Big Brake Kit 405mm Front w/ 380mm Rear on Project Cayenne Turbo here at RSS / Stuttgart Performance.
With all the juice this souped up grocery getter is putting out, the stock brakes left something to be desired.
This is the first ever Brembo Big Brake Kit 405F/380R for a Cayenne Turbo, we've worked directly with Race Technologies/Brembo to facilitate this new kit for our customer and is now available for anyone wishing to upgrade.
Here's a few shots during install, more pics to come shortly...

i cant see those being any better than the stock porsche/brembo's
what do the stats say?
i must admit the rotors/discs do look nicer.
on my subaru track car, i tried 6 pot brembos, and AP 6 pots, then prodrive 6 pots, but went in the end for porsche brembos, we found them to perform the best
(have pics of all the types on the car if any one wants to see?)_

As far as stats go, i doubt anyone did any comparison tests....but the Turbo S brakes ( on the Gen 1's) give you a 15% better stopping power then the standard turbo brakes......My guess would be the Brembo kit gives you 25% better stopping power over the standard turbo brakes.....
wow, whats the better performance down to? is it larger calipers or "more powerfull" somehow?
i find my standard brakes superb, all i have done is change pads and dimpled/groved rotors.

-Cargraphic Lowering Module (Part # 115P55LS)
-Powder Coated Wheels Matte Black in House
-Exhaust tips got our signature Black Ceramic Coating Treatment.
-Estimated 600-615 HP / 614-630 TQ vs. Stock 500 HP / 516 TQ on 91 Octane Fuel.
First, this is not a one-size fits all kit. This is a new series of high performance calipers from Brembo with four different piston sizes available so we can match this new caliper and piston sizes to the Cayenne Turbo for perfect pedal feel and modulation.
The caliper weighs in at only 7.6 lbs without pads. You can see each piston on the caliper as Brembo eliminated every ounce of excess material and added an integral bridge for maximum stiffness.
Specs:
Cayenne Turbo Front (Excluding Turbo S) 6 Piston Monobloc caliper, available in four colors: Black, Red, Silver, Yellow. Two piece 405x34mm 2-Piece Disc
Cayenne Turbo Rear (Excluding Turbo S) 4 Piston Monobloc caliper, available in four colors: Black ,Red, Silver, Yellow. Two piece 380x28mm 2-Piece Disc
Front
6 Piston Caliper: 7.6 lbs
405mm Disc: 27.43lbs.
Bell: 2.73 lbs.
Rear
4 Piston Caliper: 8.34 lbs.
380mm Disc: 13.51 lbs.
Bell: 3.67 lbs.
60-0
Let me start by saying that ONE 60-0 stop will not really accurately reflect the gains in performance that a Big Brake Kit offers. The stock brakes will work well enough for one 60-0 ABS stop. If forced to lock the wheels with Brembos, I would say the difference would probably be around 5 feet. But in a situation where you are trucking down Angeles Crest Highway or a similar road, the Brembo system will repeatedly slow the vehicle without fade or any drama as the system has more heat capacity and better cooling than a stock system. Higher performance vehicles also tend to be driven faster as well. Keep in mind that the heat generated from 60-0 and 120-0 isn't linear, it’s exponential. Meaning a 180-0 stop is going to produce way more than 3 times as much heat per stop.
Pedal feel
The larger rotors, more pistons, and a long narrow caliper all help create more leverage to eliminate the 'spongy' feeling of the stock brakes. The Brembo kits also include a great set of pads that add to an amazing pedal feel and what feels like an endless amount of braking force.
Confidence
This is really an immeasurable performance gain. What good is added performance without the confidence in braking to use it? The Brembo system emulates what Porsche would have done if they had produced an uber-high performance Cayenne. As Porsche ratchets up the performance on the Cayenne or the 911 series cars, the OE brakes get better and larger so the brakes match the increased performance. So, when you add horsepower in the aftermarket, the brakes need to keep up.
Steering feel and other benefits
Not only is your braking performance increased but your steering will feel lighter and more responsive because of the reduction in unsprung weight. The suspension will work better because you have less unsprung weight. Also your acceleration will be faster because hp/wt ratio and unsprung weight.
Quality
The one thing that makes Brembo stand alone is that they test each of their aftermarket high performance systems in the same fashion as they do the products they make for Porsche on the OE side. So when these calipers were developed, they also went through testing that includes 700,000 threshold braking cycles on a dyno. The discs and hardware also have been brake dyno tested and are approved for use in any climate.

Toasted Brakes
Alex, you gave Pet Rhyno a real workout, those brakes were toast by the end of the day.

Wow that looks great. Caliper wise, would the stock Turbo caliper be pretty much the same as these brembo calipers?
When looking at it up close, the Turbo front calipers are huge!
