You are correct. I never noticed that. Its the second button from the right. Just tried it. I was wondering what that one did.

Question P switch in overhead console

Hi. 1st post for me. Greetings. This is a great thread.
Does anyone know what the switch with a "P" on it is for ?
It's located on the left side of the overhead console. I've been
through the manual 3 times and can't find it.
Thanks.

Welcome!!

That is for the park assist sensors so you can turn them off. I do it sometimes like at a coffee stand or going through the car wash.

Excellent !! Thanks. Now the "P" makes sense. Have to look at the manual again to see where I missed that.

FYI. I looked at the manual again and DUH! there it is, on 1st page of Parking section (which is of course the section I skipped over before). Oh well

Extra 12V power outlets

FYI. I know this was discussed a looong time ago, but I checked them on
my '09 GTS and all 5 of them (front ashtray, 2 way up and under passenger
footwell, back of console , and trunk) are on all the time. Maybe with earlier model years this wasn't the case.
Just thought I'd mention it.

Here is the correct one... Porsche part # 955613235036N3 I picked it up at ECS...http://www.ecstuning.com/ES1453842/

Pretty cheap upgrade if you ask me. It really was plug and play!!
So is this really a plug n play and I'll have auto lights? Is the sensor built into my GTS already?

As long as you have the sensor on the windshield like above it is plug and play.

How do you remove the old switch?

I'll look again and see if I can find the right one.
How did you remove the switch? I just ordered the auto switch.

You are supposed to just be able to push the switch lever in, turn it clockwise until it stops then the whole switch should pop out. I had to take the fuse cover off the end of the dash and push it from behind. It was pretty wedged in there. Then you unplug it, plug the new one it and push it back in place.

Aloha everyone!

First post and figured this thread would be a good first thread to read; Like most I've read my manual but this did help cover a couple things that I might have missed.

Picked up 2008 CTT. Love it though after 4 days of ownership my check engine light came on, will look at that after I get off of work.

My name is Keoni and look forward to an active forum. Other cars include 2004 Volvo S60R (very modded), 2004 Saleen S281-Cobra (very modded), 1994 Viper (Track Spec, no mods).
