PSM Failure Workshop

PSM Failure Workshop question?!
I just bought a 2005 S on Monday from a family friend & the car has 7,700 miles. It was never basically never driven but I am getting the 'PSM Failure Workshop' warning. I have searched on here & Rennlist & can't seem to find any real answers as to what may cause this.
I've read 'servo motor' needs to be replaced, I read 'control unit' needs to be replaced, I've read you can just reset the computer & it won't throw the code anymore. However, one thing I read that stood out was 1 guy said if you replace the battery it shouldn't throw the code anymore which actually makes the most sense for my car since it's 5yrs old, has 7700 miles & literally sat in a garage for the last 5yrs.
Does anybody on here have ANy experience with this?!
Thanks

I actually just had a similar issue with my 2005TT, it is going to require a new control unit. Perhaps replace the battery first since it has been sitting so long anyway, wish that would have been the problem for me!
