Does the GTS have a service due at 2500miles?

I just clocked 1100 miles on my GTS, and I just saw the service indicator saying it is due for service in 1400 miles. Is there a service due this early or is this an earlier? I had to check and recheck thinking it might of saif 14000 but it was 1400.

TIA

Frank

hey frank, so you got the GTS, very cool. what color and where are the pics. did you get it from downtown LA? just make sure you don't go to their service dept.

i belive the first service for GTS is at 10k miles or 1 year. my service indicator did not come on until that time. i am pretty sure about this. it was the same for my 997s as well.

I sure did! I got the white on havanna decently loaded up. It has the panorama roof, nav, xenon and other little tidbits that brought this thing to 92k with a healthy discount for DTLA. I didn't get the discount I truly wanted but I didn't quite take a bath either on my trade in so that worked out for both of us.

I would post up pictures but there are no cool mods like yours!...well not yet at least! HAHA!

On an '09 GTS, the first service is due at EITHER 10,000 miles or 1 year from the In-Service Date.

My GTS just hit 5,000 miles and the Service light came on.....I've had the car for a year, which is about right.

Service at the dealer cost me $209.

dealerships need to service the vehicle when they first get it and reset the service reminder thing. Just go and ask them to reset it for free. your first service is not due till 10k.

My guess is that your 2010 has sat in the lot for about a year then. Once the vehicle is brought into the shop the Vehicle Handover is preformed where all the things like "Service Interval" is coded to the truck. That is day one of the time/distance alloted before service. There really is no nead to have any service done before 10K anyway, regardless of time. The first service is just an oil change at 10K.

Like previously recomemded. Just return to the dealer and ask them to reset the interval. The only down side is the reminded wont appear for another 10K so you will have to remember yourself to go at 10K total. From there on out you will be back on schedualle

I think the reason the service lights are coming up is because they sat on the lot for sometime before you bought them or in the port and the year time period has expired. I would wait till 10k or a year from purchase to do your first service though.

Thanks for the replies guys. It makes sense, but I think I might get an oil change anyway and reset the service mile indicator just for my piece of mind and it won't hurt either.
