Removing Interior Trim

Any advice on as to carefully remove the interior trim pieces around the cabin? I recently bought some of that carbon fiber look-alike vinyl others have been raving about and I wanted to try it on a few interior pieces. Do you need a special tool? Are there ideal places to wedge and pop off the pieces? Thanks in advance!

Works well...a little flex at times, but sometimes that's a good thing.

I had a few trim pieces removed by the local dealer and they used a white plastic tool to remove the pieces. I was told (could not confirm) that the tool was made out of some sort of wax so it "gives" a bit and it will actually scrape pieces off it (did look like white wax shards). It had the Porsche script on it.
