Looking to upgrade from 05 S to a turbo, need advice.

Hi guys

I have an 05 Cayenne S and am looking at swapping to 2004-2006 turbo.

My Cayenne S is very basic no navigation and no air suspension. Never any problems so I am wondering what issues i may run into in a turbo which i think has standard air susp ( which was a nightmare on my last mercedes)

Are the air susp, dated nav system or any other components on the turbo likely to give me trouble?

Like i said my S has been so trouble free so hoping for a similar experience!

Thanks for any help guys

If you are not having problem with your CS..why trade??
bear in mind that the car you want to get is an 04-06 turbo(that means its a used car ) no offense meant...and even if you get the full history/service of the car the chance of it breakingdown is there...unless you really want a turbo and willing to take chances/risk..by all means do it....the only diff of the cs and turbo is that it has a turbo....(lets just not get technical)..my 0.02cents...

This entire post sounds like you have not driven either.

Unless you have a seriously optioned CS there are a toof differences in the Turbo just from an options stand point.

For the most part the air suspension and nav are reliable. Thy do have a few know issues and might require a bit of work the difference in ride and handling feel is worth a little effort and expensive if it comes up.

The nav is dated and will eventually need updated IMO. But that is just the nature of the beast.

The acceleration feel between a CS and a turbo is huge!! Add in little things you might not have in your CS like full leather everything, alcantara, etc and it becomes a totally different car.

All the other "common" issues are the same between CS and CTT.

Cole be honest, you have to change the turbos as often as you change brake pads....

Turbo = delish. You will not be disappointed. Try to find a cpo vehicle if you can.

There are two categories of Cayenne owners: those that bought turbos... and those that wish they had.

I had the chance to drive a 2008 S for a weekend while my 2008 turbo was being fixed.
The only thing that is impoortant is test drive. After testing the turbo, you won't got back. This car is like driving a sports car. Sport mode and turn off the traction controll, try doing a u turn without releasing the gas pedal. Get a cpo is suggested but then your not able to do any mods. My 08 had only 23k and 2 years remaing factory warranty + CPO 2 more years 50K. So I have 4+ years warrant. That's better than new.

Service for turbo is more expensive and frequent. Check the internt and find a good mechanic that is able to maintain and has the computers to reset the service light.

Just read about the options available that year and choose what you think makes sense. My car is missing lighting package but has pano roof and 21inch rims that is expensive. A $110K car with no auto headlights/day night mirror makes no sense

Stay away from the '04 Turbo. Not sure about the '05. Should have no problems with the '06. A lot of problems with the '04s (I had one) that were remedied but not sure if it was for '05 but was definitely by '06.
