NAV/PCM unit problem

I have an 05 CTT and my PCM unit went out about 2 weeks ago. The screen is black and periodically reboots about every 30 seconds. So basically the Nav, radio and everything else in the unit doesn't work.

I tried to reset the system with the 1-4-8 code and all that does is bring the white porsche screen up for 10 seconds and then goes back to the black screen.

I also tried killing the power to it by taking the fuses out and it didn't do anything.

Now it's sitting on my desk opened up and I don't see any cold connections on the wires or fuses. The screen seems to be working fine since it has some display.

Any one have any ideas as to what is wrong with unit? I'm not looking to let the dealership take $3000 of mine to replace the system... You would think Porsche would have a recall on this since it happens so often.

no recalls out on PCMs that i know of... you may want to try and source a used one. Replacing the unit has been the only fix I've seen for that issue.
