'04 Turbo w/ single oval exhaust tips

Hi All,

I am looking at purchasing an '04 Cayenne Turbo and was looking at one in the Phoenix area. Looks nice, but noticed that the exhaust is not the dual round tips per side, but rather the single oval (Cayenne S) tips. Were the dual tips an option on the '04 or has this vehicle been altered?

It is definitely a Turbo and has not been re-badged, so I am curious if this is a bad sign. Any help appreciated.

Thank you.
sn

My guess would be accident damage and someone to cheap to put the proper(turbo) replacement parts on, as the turbo came standard with the quad tips, quad ovals were optional.

Also keep in mind, it won't be simple tip swap, the oulet (cutout) in the lower bumper portion must also be replaced to accept the larger tips.

You say it is not a rebadge... but that is a Cayenne S lower valence and exhaust tip. My 2004 Turbo came with the standard dual square tips on it. If you go to dual tips, you will have to replace that lower valance on the bumper as well... FYI

Go to page -162-. It says that the "Four-tube sport tailpipes" are Optional on all models. This is for the 2006's but maybe it was the same for 2004? I can't find a brochure for your year.

Certainly possible. Especially the earlier the Cayenne. Before dealers started making the packages they like and think sell best.

Looks like an opportunity to upgrade the exhaust.

"Four tube sport tailpipes" are the tips found on Turbo S and Titanium Edition Cayennes. ALL turbos had the regular "square-look" quad tips as standard equipment.

I'd run away from that one. It's not right.

My '05 Turbo (not an S nor a Titanium Edition) got these tailpipes. Checking the options list on the original window sticker, it was an option called "Sports Tail Pipe" with a cost of $1,150.
