Evoms V-flow intake or BMC air filters?

Which mod should I do first? The air filters are $85 x 2 =$170 and the intakes are $695. The BMC filters look nice but eventually going to be replaced with the intakes for max hp?

I would go with the BMC filters. IMO the minor difference btwn that and the EVOMS does not justify the cost.

Better to take that extra money and go buy a set of bypass pipes from Sharky. Then you will be set.

i had the bmc filters and have always been proponent for drop in filters over intakes. after the filters, i had put on the cargraphic bypass pipes and loved it. the sound though, wasn't quite there, was too raspy and did not have a low pitch at all. through a sponsor on 6 speed i purchased the intake and i really felt a difference in not only sound, but the car felt like it had better throttle response. usually, the case is that a drop in filter as far as performance is concerned is better and far more efficient then aftermarket intakes, but in this case, i was pleasantly surprised that a mod, originally purchased just for added sound, had actually made the cayenne more responsive.

conclusion : by the intake.

Of course -- intake. No need to think any more.
I use the BMC before the EVOMS. There were no different and same as the OEM filter. After I change to the V-flow intake, I can feel the Hp add and faster throttle response in my GTS.

Really? I've been using aftermarket filters for years...(drop in and full intake systems) and have always found the full intakes to make more power than just drop in filters. This ususally has to do with the design limitations (of the stock intake system) being engineered out when the new intake is made. I would be interested to see what your source of information is with regards to your statement.

+1 on that ! I did performance filters first and did not notice any changes. Dropped my EVOs in and immediately felt more pull earlier in the power band. Also, the sound just puts a big fat smile on your face.

Also - before anyone says " the computer dictates what happens so the intakes wont matter " I will say, the unequivocally did.

Dunno about all that. For starters, my diverter valves and k&n dropins made as much SOTP improvement as my cat bypass.

Keep in mind also.. that the Turbo S which draws in enough air to give 50+ more HP uses the same intake structure. While more open is usually better, I don't know if you are entering diminishing returns territory.
