How do you keep the radio OFF?
SubscribeMy wife and I just bought a '04 Cayenne S over the weekend. I've thumbed through all the manuals and can't figure out how to keep the radio turned off when I power up the Navigation. In other words, I can only MUTE the radio temporarily after turning on the PCM . . . after turning off the ignition and turning it back on, the radio does not stay muted. I've tuned to a blank frequency to reduce the "in my face" factor but still have to mute again to eliminate the static. Any suggestions?
I think your SOL. I too am bothered by this and have not found a resonable way to fix it.
Yeah enjoy it after it scares the hell out of you when you start the car.
While driving, turn the volume all the way down or hit the mute. I think the radio still stays on low volume when you start the car again. I'll have to try next time I get in the car.
yes I always turn down my radio when I shut down. Seems to work for me.
The MUTE button on the multi-function steering wheel turns off the music while keeping the NAV on. It also pauses your CD.

Pauses the CD? Are U sure about that? It seems to me that it just mutes the CD's as well and they keep playing. I have both in dash and 6-changer. It's been a while since I've used them--I tend to listen to AM talk radio.Originally Posted by pnwpirelli

I have a 2008 Cayenne Turbo w/ the multi-function steering wheel. Used it this morning. Hit MUTE - song on the CD paused; PCM still on - hit MUTE again - song picked up EXACTLY where left off.
I don't listen to the radio that much, but I imagine the concept is the same. I like it completely quiet when I'm parking; and the PCM obviously needs to be on for the backup cam to work.
Try it! :-)
