I have seen the JBM in person and it did not look blueish at all. Looked like a shiny, rich black. 03LX470, you have had your Cayenne turbo for a while now... enjoying it? How's the ride comfort with the 21's?

The ride with the 21's was just fine. The suspension on the 2011 varies to a greater degree between the C/N/S settings and I never felt any harshness due to the 21's.

However, I've sold it and got a white PTT

The CTT was great and even better in some ways. But I just loved the Panamera and I guess that's where my heart was!

I had JBM for a whole weekend. Left dealership looking great and looked filthy when brought back. It does not look blueish unless your rods and cones work different from mine. From prior experience with metallic black on another car and the struggle to keep looking clean, never again!! esp on car used daily.

Why are you stressed about the heated windshield? My wife has it on her Cayenne. She hasn't had any reason to use it yet - which is a good thing.

She has Jet Black and I don't see any shades of blue. While any black or dark color is a PITA to keep looking great, it still is a lot easier if the color is metallic.

also seen a few CTT in JB and didn't see any shades of blues. If anything it was a deep black with maybe a grey reflection. JB > B

Thanks a bundle. I love the JBM.. a total win in my books. I like the carbon flake to it and feel it will help maintain it and hide swirl marks. The other colour I am totally digging is the Umber Metallic. I saw one in the showroom the other day and it was stunning!

I completely agree with your statement on the PITA for the dark colors to be kept clean and metallic being a lot easier relatively speaking. Oh BTW, I guess your wife hasn't noticed any weird halos or reflections especially in the night time from opposing car headlights. There have been quite a number of remarks made by members who find the heated winscreen extremely inconvenient and distracting although my sales advisor tends to totally disagree. Some even said " how can this even be legal...did Porsche not test it at night time". Thats why I am stressed. Imcarnuts, please ask your wife if she has had any issues especially at night and let me know since I have that on order.

That statement is music to my ears. Thank you.

Funny you should say Umber. I am replacing my Cayenne Turbo S either this spring or when the 2012s arrive. I really want to do Umber but have not seen one yet. My dealer knows to call me if they get one in so I can see it. Plans are Umber w/Espresso & Cognac. You will love the Jet Black. My wife fell in love with it when she saw it and would not even consider any other color.

My wife hates to drive at night so I have driven her Cayenne many times after dark. I have never noticed any type of halo or noticed any difference from a non heated windshield. I will be driving it tonight and again very early tomorrow morning so I will concentrate on it and let you know tomorrow.

JBM looks black to me, although as dw0082 said, it has blue metal-flake in it, and possibly silver, I'll have to check with the magnifying glass. The overall effect is to make it a bit more forgiving than straight black. Interestingly when I compared chips side by side of JBM and Basalt, the Basalt has more flake (and more colors), so maybe in the end the JBM is less forgiving, but still not as tough as straight black to keep clean and scratch free.

Now that it's rained 2 out of the 3 days I've owned the car, it's time for a bath!

Just checked my paint (after washing) with my handy dandy 50X pocket microscope. The metal-flake is mostly silver and blue, but also an occasional red and green! Again, I think the metal-flake density is relatively low compared to some other black metallics. In daylight it looks pretty black to me, but at night under artificial light there is a slight bluish hue, which I find attractive. A bit like BMW's carbon black, but not that blue.

Sounds complicated

It's gonna suck if GTS red becomes available soon

Love the feedback. Ok magic question. Would you order it again if you had a choice of exterior. I know I will love the JBM; however I remember how much the swirls and the chip marks drove me nuts on my M5. With the Cashmere Silver I don't even see them or think about that much.
