Final Order Completed - some options not available

Placed the final order for my CTT. Apparently there is quite a discrepancy between the online configurator, printed order guide at dealer, and actual order page direct from Porsche.

4X4 - Rear side airbags, no longer available
VW5 - Thermal and Noise Inulated Glass, no longer available
There may be others, but these are the ones I wanted to order but can not.

Dealer says unable to order currenlty. Will that change? Who knows...

This is my first Porsche, so not sure if this is a normal situation or not.

Congrats on your build!

Did they state the reason why those options aren't available anymore because I know a lot of people here who got those options.

That is interesting ... I have both those options on mine that was just built last week. Did they give you an explanation ? I am hoping that there is nothing wrong with those options and that there are on back order just like how the roof rails were in Oct 2010.

Hmm. How will you truly know you get the insulated glass or not.,.. Get charged for it and don't get....
I'm bummed if this is how it goes, really wanted the silent glass...
If not I'll put that 1500 towards thioe ceramics then....
Put a call into my guy, to confirm.

Jace, I think for you the Burm and PCCB were just meant to be.... Good thought on the noise/thermal insul glass. My (or my wife's) Cayenne was built with it last week .. or was it ... I really wonder. How can you really tell ?? There was a recent nightmare for a guy. He had several options missing on his 997 build and he only realized it after each passing day following delivery of his custom ordered car.

no reasons given. Just "we cant order those items - checked with regional rep"

I cant imagine the local dealer has any reason not to order whatever I want, just interesting these things are listed everywhere but not available to actually order.

I'm still very happy with the overall car I am getting, just been an interesting process.

1st gen had issues with vendors. For a while the 20" wheel was not available at launch as well as olive wood. But maybe they found these options not selling or noise insulating glass just didnt make sense on a Porsche - right fjs?

Rear Side Airbags Standard for all Cayenne Models
All MY 2011 Cayenne models for the U.S. market with a production date starting from mid-January will have rear side airbags (Code 4X4) as standard equipment.
To implement this mid-model year change, all current existing orders (stock & customer) in the system with production date from mid-January 2011, will have this option added byPCNA.
Please note that although the Rear side airbag appears with a price in VMS and PVA today, the orders with build date from mid-January will not be charged for this option at the time of invoicing

SO, with that said, I checked on my order. It is locked with Porsche. I now get the side airbags as standard, no option to take them away. I originally did NOT want them becuase I have kids, but now have no choice they are standard. As fot the therm glass, I have confirmation that my build will have it. I also opted for the ceramics, ( but I have to see if i could be changed when I did). (might be locked and too late...)
We will see as there are still a few issues I am dealing with about the interior color change and when it was submitted. The current build still shows my previous color and not the cream as we decided for final about a week ago. If this goes does the wrong path I might be building the next month, and release this build to somone else...

Nice Jace! Drool......

Wanted to get a V6 for the wife but the build dates for those were out to April. So we had to go for an S with build date in January. Don't have the build sheet, but going 21"s, white with black interior, 14 way, black roof rails, black trim, normal Bose, normal sunroof, etc. Opted out for PDCC, PTV, or height adjustable PASM as its going to be the grocery getter, child transporter with the odd trips to Tahoe, hence why I wanted the V6. MSRP: ~ $80K

Going to keep the GTS, so we'll be a <cough> 2 Cayenne family.....going to try to put 500K miles on that thing. Currently at 55K.
