I read that Porsche went with the new 8 speed because of increased levels of torque the Pdk could not handle
Having just ordered a CT,I am curious as to the possibilities of this new gear box...

I got a Pana loaner with PDK. Am I the only one who thinks it is out of place in a Luxo car? Great in sports car, but I'll take a fast slush box instead, preferably one that blips the throttle on downshifts for fun.. It would be half the reason I would pick a Cayenna over a Panamera.
