As many of you know that this is the first time ever Porsche is offering prepaid maintenance program. In Oregon (no sales tax) I was quoted $2600.00 for a total of five years of maintenance.
Two questions for all of you:

1) What was your 5 yr quote ?
2) How many here are going for it ?

I haven't received a qoute yet. Will check this out on Saturday when I pick up my car from service.

Holy crap thats a lot of money, what does that include? Hopefully more than just scheduled oil changes. My Cadillac has 4 years of maintenance, but it's free.

I didn't even know there was a prepaid maintenance plan. Are there shorter term plans for less $? I don't usually keep a vehicle 5 years.

Here you go: This is what is covered. These are the prices: 5 yrs/50k miles for $2,600, 4y/40k was $1,950, and 3y/30k was $1,250. Transferable to any authorized Porsche service center. For someone who drives less than 12,000 miles a yr do you think it is worth it to go for the 5 yr program ( I plan to keep the vehicle for atleast 7years) or would it be cheaper to just pay as you go. It would be great to get the input of previous gen Cayenne owners. I am thinking not worth it ... any help would be appreciated. Help me out here.

its looks like a fair deal. its priced at the same price as the oil changes would cost you. the Spark plugs + cabin filter make it worth it while.

In the manual what else is required thats not on the list by 50,000?

and when they find something is wrong (like power steering fluid is low) do they fill it up? it seems like you're buying a maintenance plan that only does visual checks..

I totally concur ... too much checking this/that. It is ridiculous IMO to spend that much $$ for what you get in return. I would love to get some more input. I am going to check on how much $$ it would cost for changing brake fluid/spark plugs and then decide on whether to get the plan or not. Coz otherwise most of it is just a annual $210.00 oil/filter change. For those interested please be aware that you only have 6 months from the time of vehicle purchase to buy the pre-paid maintenance plan.

brake fluid change flush was ~$300, it was required for 40k miles service.

Just called the Porsche service department and here are some costs.

Checks (parts and Labour)
10K = $152
20K = $454
30K = $150
40K = $859
50K = $152
Total = $1767

This is just for the checks. Now I'm sure the maintenance probably covers parts that wear out, just like my BMW maintenance program ( you need to check on this and let us know!)

Here are some prices that I got from the service departement for a 2011 Automatic V6
Front brakes pads and rotors = $1138
Back brakes pads and rotors = $920
Xenon light bulb change = $254.52 x 2 or $509.

Fair to say that you'll have all those listed above in the first five years of ownership therefore total future cost would be $4334. Therefore with the assumption that all parts replacements would be covered by Porsche, the cost of $2650 is a good deal.

I'm planning to go to a independent shop for maintenance. I don't know about your dealer but I have some friends who are mechanics at dealerships and they told me that they don't even check everything that are suppose to be checked for a minor service. Most of the time its just a fluids check and oil change which is a quick checkup for a DIY guy. So I would probably pass on this and try and find a independent certified Porsche shop.

This is absolutely ridiculous charges, this should come standard with the vehicle and its hefty price tag. I would look for an independent as well. And if things change and you decide to part with the vehicle the money was wasted versus paying as you go.

I wonder how they would check the condition of the coolant pipes? Taking out the whole thing? Why not replace with the aluminum ones while at it.

But from the doc Woot posted, it looks like this only covers the visual inspection of the brakes and not changing them....is that true??? If it covers parts and labor, then it may be worth it.
