I would be asking for a bigger discount..thats a long time for someone to
do a repair.

Just got a fairly ridiculous email from my car advisor that original on vessel eta date "seemed incorrect", no new eta port dates.

Based on fellow posters experiences.... and maybe now mine... seems these vehicles are in major at port limbo awaiting repair/fixes with no real understanding/communication on timing.

Hope I am wrong. Any forum dealer types to chime in on the real deal?

I spoke to my dealer this am and he indicated that they are getting very little info from Porsche on the issue. The problem seems to be with a controller unit in CS and CTT having a defect and needing to be replaced. I would not be surprised if the diruption of micro controller production due to Japan also plays a role going forward. Depending on what sort of micro controller it is north of 50% of supply may be from Japan.

Dealer called me today saying the issue lay with getting a part for the ECU upgrade that was manufactured in Japan. The parts have come in and they expect vehicles to start leaving the port on 4/7

Very helpful replies. Maybe not what we want to hear but what we need to hear. Many thanks.

Of course any new news in future, good or bad, also appreciated.

Westchester NY Dealer Update

Anxiously awaiting my CTT....
Latest dealer update:

3/31- "The car will be held at the port to have the DME replaced. There is a stop sale on Cayenne's until the module is changed. SOLD units will get priority. So hang in there...I will keep you posted as I hear anything. I am hoping for mid-month, we shall see."

4/4- "Status has changed to passed inspection and window sticker applied. It should get loaded on a truck soon I hope. this is good news and moving faster than I would have guessed. Let's see what happens with the trucking. I will keep you posted."

Thanks Yodicken. This is consistent with what I am getting from my CA though the second language difficulties keep leaving things unclear.

What is your port? There seems a usual 5 to 7 day to dealer period after Porsche recognizes vehicle at port as opposed to ship's landing which can be a week or more earlier. There is a nether space for customs clearing, inspections, stickers, etc. From what I can piece together the variability in time spent at port runs from one day to six weeks, perhaps someone will shed more light on all of this for those still ordering or in production.

You seem on a good path with a communicative car advisor. Congrats on your upcoming ride.

Port Davisville

The port is Davisville, RI and the dealer is located in White Plains, NY.
I think the boat landed 3/29.
Happy to post updates as I receive them.

Maybe I'll be lucky and they forgot to put in the heated windscreen.

According to the report log mine was built about 3 weeks ago and was expecting to see it later this month, was advised yesterday that they are not expecting it now until 25 May

Don't know if it is the same issue or not
