CTT Stuck in Port - V8 Stop Sale by Porsche

Hi there,

I just found out that my CTT is stuck at port in RI. It has been there now for two weeks and I have no idea how much longer it will be there. It seems that Porsche is having some issues with the DME control unit.

*** The message I received.

Please see the info below regarding the current Cayenne V8 stop sale.

WB13 - STOP SALE Replacing DME control unit
Affected vehicles - Certain 2011 Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo.

Please be informed that a Stop Sale has been issued on certain 2011 Cayenne S and Turbo vehicles. Affected vehicles had DME control units installed which may have a defect. As a result, the engine may have rough running at idle and/or driveability issues while the vehicle is in motion. Due to these concerns, affected vehicles are not to be delivered to customers or operated on the highway until the DME has been replaced.

Not every Cayenne S or Turbo is involved, nor does every dealer have vehicles included in this action. Therefore please consult the attached list to find out if a particular vehicle is affected. As an alternative, you may use the vehicle information link in PIWIS/PQIS.

Add 2011 Base Cayennes in the mix as well. Just got a call from the dealer this afternoon and was told truck is being held at port in Rhode Island. Did not give a reason just said it periodically happens.

just spoke to the dealer only 8 cylinders have the DME issue. V6's are being inspected for quality control. so V6's have 0 issues we should be alarmed about.

My salesman called about an hour ago and our V6 Cayenne was just released to the transporter. It is coming down to Silver Spring,Md. from Rhode Island, things are cooking now. My wife also told me she with Porsche Finance to lock in the rate. Getting a good rate will not be an issue. Porsche #2 here you come. SWEET!!

The below in italics is from my CA this morning:

yes all 2011 porsche cayenne,s as well as

cayenne twinturbos are subject to get an up-date on softaware done by porsche tech from porsche ag at the port, which will take an estimate extra 5 to 7 days at port . no eta yet at port, unit still on vessel.

Dunno what all this means exactly other than our Cayennes seem to be at port in Casablanca while we just wait, and wait, and wait.

Without benefit of VIN, anyone know how to track a vehicle due into Brunswick but not yet arrived? Or is Porsche playing it cool by showing them on vessels when they are really sitting at port waiting for repairs?

ask the dealer for the name of the ship then search for it here, It will show you its current position

I have been told that my car won't be ready until mid-April. That means it has been stuck at port for 6 weeks total if in fact they hit that date. Big time suck-age.
