How to tell if it has PDCC??

Hi All,

Thinking of replacing my '08 BMW 550i with an '08 Cayenne GTS. Already have a 911 so want something for winters in Wisconsin. My brother has 2 GTSs and swears by the PDCC option stating that handling improvement is significant.

So...there is a GTS at my local Audi dealer. How can I tell if it has PDCC?

Thanks all!!

One way, I believe, is that the buttons below the shifter will be black, not silver. (see rennlist.com)

Thanks. Went to rennlist and searched there. Found a picture. PDCC buttons are silver and non-PDCC are black. There is a little label near the bottom of the console that actually says 'PDCC'. Goes to show you a how much a picture can explain lots of words.

As it turns out, PDCC is rarer than the Nordic Gold color choice. In running a serch on cars.com, there were at least 4 of 90 Nordic Golds while only 2 with PDCC. Unfortunately the PDCC cars aren't near me.

Maybe I'll have to forget the idea of PDCC.

BTW....One of my brother's is Nordic Gold and PDCC! How rare is that!!!

I had a difficult time finding a good CPO with PDCC and was tempted to do without it.

All I can say is that I am glad that I held out for it.

Now that I fully understand how it works and what it is capable of, I wouldnt have it any other way.

Nothing in my area has PDCC. Think I might wait another year to try to get a better deal on an '09 or '10. My BMW 550i sport is running really nice anyway. :-)

if you're in no rush, maybe wait?
I ask that because for some it doesn't matter to have this option.
The Cayenne is a great ride either way.

If you need something for winter driving, the anti body sway won't really be needed when your winter tires are trying to grip the road...

get it now, use it, then just upgrade later?

All personal preference.....

the 2008 550i isn't awd is it? I don't think the awd was an option for that model when I looked at it around that same year, but I might be wrong... I think now they have a awd 550i.....

I'm in no rush. This will replace the 550i when I do get it so I'd like the PDCC up front rather than changing again. Seems everytime I switch cars I take it on the chin financially. You're right on the AWD for the 550i; RWD only for that year. I do put snows on it for the winter and it isn't too bad. The other advantage of waiting for a '09 or even '10 would be to get one with PCM 3.0 v. the 2.1 in the '08.

Yup agree with you on the nav upgrade in 2009. It's also that much of an upgrade more with the new 2011's.
