Question Door Handle Removal for Color Matching

Does anyone have experience in removing the door handles? I dislike the silver handles on black. I already vinyl wrapped the silver trim and the door handles remain an eye sore for me.

I wanted to get these either painted or wrapped, but would like to take them offer prior to doing so.

Thanks in advance!

Trim done : before and after

Here's a picture of how my pig was when I got it.

Here she is after the wheels and trim were done. All that's left are those door handles.

if your vinyl guy is good, just have him do it... he did all my trim, door handles, rear bumper protector, everything... I heard some bad stories of removing them to paint, etc and it being expensive with new springs, etc etc so I just had them vinly them as well... have him try it and if it looks bad, just remove it. It shouldnt take an experienced person more then a few hours to give it a shot

Did your vinyl guy take the handles off?

My guy said he would do it only if I could get the handles off, otherwise, he claimed it wouldn't last longer than a month. I might have to talk to another vinyl guy.

he did it with them on... its not like super show quality, but the benefit is the back of our handles are rubber so he didnt have to go all the way around... so when you open the door, just dont grab the whole thing, just pull the back rubber and it will be fine. Its when the whole thing is wrapped and you tug it everytime you open the door is when it will look like crap.

You can see some of the cracking/silver if you look REAL close but I'm not entering any shows, I bought it to drive it a ton. I just drove from Colorado, to Michigan, to Chicago, and back in a weekend for the Woodward Dream cruise. Well over 2500 miles in 4 days.

The other tricky part was around the key hole on the drivers door but mine came out pretty good.

Id just have him try one handle and see how it turns out before he spends all his time... heck, have 4 different vinyl guys give it a whirl haha

That's good to know. I don't need it show quality either.

Do you have a picture of one of your handles close up?
