40k miles service..
40k miles service..
is it better to have this done in a dealership, or in a independent shop?
Does this includes replacement of the coil packs or they just check if these are still ok? I'm thinking of doing the coolant pipes upgrade as well, if an the indie shop is a good option (and less cost), then maybe i'll probably do it too..
can dealerships gives you some sort of discounts if you get these 2 done?
thanks

Assuming you are out of warranty, go to reputable shop. It will cost you less than the dealer, trust me. Spark plugs replaced at 60k if not mistaken, and if the coils are good, why mess with them, right?
On the 2006 cayenne turbo the spark plugs are due at the 40k. As far as your coolant pipe goes if you got the money to spend and trying to void a break down then go ahead and replace it.
For the coolant pipes all parts without the water pump should be $800-$1000 (depending if you want to replace all the gaskets, o-rings and bolts), labor is approx 5-8 hours depends which service center you take it to.
Good luck and feel free to pm me for any questions.

at this point, i'm more concerned with upgrading the coolant pipes.. the 40k service is secondary, a few months ago, was quoted at about $1,100 for labor for the coolant pipes replacement (i'm providing the pipes - from suncoastparts).. i'm also due for a brake (pad) replacement.. arrghh!

Just a thought, how would your warranty work with your repair shop since you're providing all the coolant pipe parts...

i'm out of warranty.. and no warranty on independent shop.. got a good quote from sunset porsche for the coolant upgrade kit from about 6 months ago.. not sure how's the price difference now..
got a good price at a dealership (they said if I decide to do both in their shop, they may take out about $300 less since some works overlaps, then i have a 15% discount for all parts and labor - with 2 yrs warranty..

All Porsche parts are 2 years unlimited miles warranty. Make sure your labor is cover as well at the independent shop. Not all repair shops offer warranty on the labor.
