Cruise Control doesn't work

Hi guys! Just got my 04 Cayenne with 81K miles last month. Drive mostly in town so hadn't had the chance to try out my cruise control until last week. I discovered it doesn't work. The light comes on like it should work, but it doesn't. I tried the search feature on here and saw someone mention that can be a symptom of a problem with the brake switch, but not much more info than that.

Anyone have any experience with this? What am I looking at?

Not yet. I looked up the fuses in the owner's manual, and I don't see one labeled 'cruise control' specifically, so I'll probably have to pull them each out and check them. Maybe I'll be able to do that after the kids go to bed.

Sounds like a good place to start. Let us know how you make out and if that didn't work perhaps one of the more technically knowledgeable folks will have a better path for you to take.

mine was easy diy 24$ fix

On MY04 it was the brake light switch located on the brake pedal mount.

This. Does it start without putting your foot on the brake pedal?

Mine does start with my foot off of the brake and my cruise also doesn't work. Any suggestions?

I do wonder how to operate that too. The light been on on the dash but I don't know how to get it to work either. Was cruising on the highway the other day and tried to turned it on. Didn't work either. 04 CT.

Highly doubt it's a fuse. I would definitely check the brake switch on the back of the brake pedal. Installing a new one can be a PITA. I filed the plastic tabs just slightly to help twist them in. Good luck.

'06 Cayman S Cruise Control solution

My '06 Cayman S cruise control refused to work.
Simple solution, weird but worked, disconected the battery & reconnected it and all was good !
Has happened twice, once 6 years ago & again last week !
