Indy overfilled my oil

Found nothing in a search...
Had my oil changed today, and it came back about 10% over the full line. Should I worry? Go back? I know it is not much over, but my car only burns a quart every 15,000 miles. it was checked 2 times after sitting for 1 hour. Just leave it alone? Dealership always had it at exact midpoint between high and low marks.

Probably wont hurt anything (especially since the system is more of a dry-sump system), but if it bugs you that much, just take it back and have them drain a little.

Overfill can kill the engine quickly, very serious. It's better to be a quart low than over. You need to get that oil out right away.

Thanks for the replies. I'll recheck it again and drain if it is too much over the top line.

Forgeddaboutdit.. 10% over fhe max fill line? Was that with warm oil or cold oil? If it is filled cold (which it is since the mechanic isn't going to warm the oil to 210F) - it expands more then that when warmed up. It's a semi-dry sump (meaning the oil lives way down in the bowels of the engine away from any spinning parts) - it will have NO effect at all.

Thanks Don, I will take your advice. It was checked warm all three times. It was 1/8" above the max line. Just wanted the group opinion. I asked the mechanic to reset the service clock also, for some reason the car is much snappier now with no lag! It devours pavement.

I would rather have it a little over than low.
