So I know to remove you put the car in drive or neutral and pull up.

I assume the reverse is true but my new shift **** as a little red round pulltab key in it. Wondering if it needs to be installed in a certain gear and do you pull the tab before or after the install.

Any help would be great. Plus I don't want to break my new cf shfter :-)

 

The new shifter will slide right on the shaft in neutral as well. Pull the red key out AFTER the **** is fully seated on the shaft.
