Need help? 2009 GTS or 2011 S for $15K more?

1) 2011 Cayenne S $78,000 with 38,000km Certified Porsche Pre-Owned
21" Turbo II wheels, Sun roof with lots of options (not all but enough)

2) 2010 Cayenne GTS $62,000 with 57,000km

personally I would get the new body style...the 955's will start to drop, especially the GTS since the new 958 GTS is available!! That's my opinion, they both are still great vehicles!!

Of these options, #1 - for me, this isn't a hard choice considering both have about the same HP. The 958 will have better resale and a much better interior.

I think the real questions should have been 958 Cayenne S or 957 Cayenne Turbo- I guess you already know which one I picked

Wink

I love how you both mentioned resale.

Lets see here. First off you have to spend $15,000 more upfront for the newer car Not a small amount of money to most people. Certainly enough to buy another car to go play on the race track with( and a trailer to tow it with)

The older car has experienced a larger percentage drop already. So you may loose more as a percentage drop on the newer car. Sure, in a few years it will have dropper to a higher numeric value than the GTS, but will they still be $15,000 apart or $10,0000 The GTs has a cool factor over any plain S in any generation.

From a pure driving standpoint the newer car has the same power but 400lbs lighter, and 2 more gears, different and more modern interior (some think its nicer, I just think its different).

I suppose it depends on how much you value the differences! Are they worth an extra $15,000?

I'm see both sides.

I like newer and more modern but I know the value will tank in 2 years (as will the GTS).

$15K is a good chunk too.

Still pondering...

you can't go wrong but assuming the $15k isn't a deal breaker and the options get you what you want then i'm a huge fan of the significantly lower mileage and CPO. It will feel like a new car and though you shouldn't need any real warranty work it can add up fast if things go sideways on you. cheers

Well, I called a complete audible....

I just bought a cottage (closed on the 5th) and I needed to spend wisely.

I traded my 2006 911 C4S for a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 straight up. I ended up getting a fantastic deal that I couldn't pass up.

I love the cayenne but did think it was worth the extra money.

The way I see it, keep the truck and pick up another 911 in a few years.

It's been fun.
