Thinking of buying a 04 Gemballa. Good or bad idea?

Hi,

Haven't been here in a long time.
A few years ago we had a 05 Cayenne S.
No we drive a 05 Range Rover Vogue.
I have the possibility to swap car with a guy.
It is a 2004 Cayenne Gemballa. 600 hp, apprx 70000 miles.

Should i be carefull w this?
What to look out for?
Anything in particular that could break and will be expensive on those Gemballas?
Should i expect like double fuelconsumption compare to the original CTT?

Do you guys know of a good Gemballa forum?

TIA

Most of the users of the forum here are in the US, where Gemballas are rare. So there is probably just very limited experience with them.

Fuel consumption should be the same as a stock CTT until you put your foot down hard.

Other wise it would be the normal little Cayenne quirks. (Which there aren't many)

Hi,

Work forced me travelling a bit lately.
Haven't had time really to handle my car business.

Normally i would not be to worried about getting an old 04 CTT.
(It's been serviced by the book all the way).

What scares me is if there is anything in particular i should look out for since it been tunded by Gemballa.
I have talked to the original owner of it and he told me what has been done to it.
My english is so poor so i' m not going into what have been modified.
But it has the full package. 600hp, Aero 3 exteriör and so on....

Again: should i be carefull with this? I mean does the Gemaballa tuning make thinks break more easily?
And what about fuelconsumption...?

Honestly, I don't think it will be any different maintenance cost wise to any V8 cayenne. I say go for it. Too many people have standard looking cayennes, be different

Who's software did Ewe employ? I think he either did his own or used EVOMS. If he used EVOMS, then you are only looking at replacing the spark plugs at 20,000 miles rather than 40,000 miles.

Ewe Gemballa really knew his stuff. I wouldn't hesitiate after a Pre-purchase Inspection. I think you've got a rare car. It should hold its value well.

BTW, what color is it? Any photos of the exterior? Interior?

I would think the plastic coolant pipes have been changed. And most of the bugs worked out but there are many known bugs in just the stock CTT from that time.

I'll bet it handles better than stock and it roars.

Indeed, Ewe isn't going to make any more of them!
