Ptsssssssss....

Anyone experience this? Sometimes my truck make this ptsssssssss sound when I come to a full stop from 25-35mph at the lights/stop signs. At the same time I notice my right side of the hood started to lowered a little. However, my lower level did not indicated the truck is lowering. One time it made the ptsssss sound when i was out side and the right side did lowered a little. I put 4 fingers to measure the gap on the wheel well & tire. It was one finger lower than the driver side. Is this a bad sign of the air suspension going bad? 2005 CTT.

Sounds like trouble with the air suspension to me... perhaps a leak.

The only time I ever hear that sound is after I've been driving with four people in the car and I park, and everyone gets out. The suspension releases air and drops back to level again without the weight of the people.

I wonder changing my air filter to cold air filter systems has something to do with it? It never done this prior to changing the cold air filter systems. There is an air line on the passenger side with the green cap is no longer attached to the air box filter. I brought a breather filter to connect it now. Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes, this is normal. Since you removed the stock air filter which had noise baffling, you will hear ALL of the noise from the engine- included the air suspension venting into the engine bay. You will get used to this and will block it out. If you have no error codes, then I would be inclined to say no big deal.

Thanks for clearing up the noise part. How about when it lowered it self as I described? Is this normal too?

That is normal operation. It regularly makes adjustments, and will even adjust itself once after the car has been parked and shut off.
