But if I recall, there were no V8 manuals for the 955?
I was about to say that, how can you over-rev an auto transmission?

I'm curious how it happened. I've run my CTT on the track and it simply won't allow you to shift anytime the RPM would be too high.

Even in manual mode, it will upshift once the RPM is high enough in a straight line, it won't let you downshift unless the RPM is right. The only time it holds the rpm high is mid corner.

I suppose you can over rev if you select manual on the lever, and go down a steep hill.

It upshifts if the RPM gets too high, even in manual mode.

The final, final on this from my perspective: $13,000 to pull the motor, replace the valves, mill the heads. And there is no warranty on the work. Since it was unclear what actually caused the problem I am loathe to repair the existing motor.

So if you want a nice 2006 Cayenne Titanium S roller, make offer. The vehicle is at Sonnen Porsche, just outside of San Francisco.
