2006 Cayenne windshield wiper motor replacement
2006 Cayenne windshield wiper motor replacement
I am replacing the windshield wiper motor in my 2006 Cayenne S. It started getting noisy while making a clicking noise and would occasionally quit working. I could wiggle the wiper arms and it would restart. I think the motor was damaged when I had a bunch of ice and packed snow on the car and the wipers had to operate against a lot of resistance. I have removed everything including the motor from the bracket. My question is this: Is there any specific procedure for installing the new motor and indexing the motor shaft to the wiper cradle mechanism? I guess one way to do it is to plug in the new wiper motor to the car and have it rest in the "parked" position. After that the motor would be bolted to the cradle and the splined motor shaft would be connected to the wiper torque arms. If anyone has access to the maintenance manual and could take a look at it and see what it says for reinstalling the front wiper motor, I'd appreciate it.
