Broken Coil Cover...no big deal or larger issue?

I'm thinking I have a coil-pack issue because of my stuttering while on a slow acceleration from a stop. I've been reading up on the issue for a few weeks now on this forum and it seems than many of you have this pretty dialed in. So upon physical inspection the first thing I see is this (pic attached)

I can let this go as just a one-off weird issue but I am also having the big "THUNK" when shifting down on hard acceleration from about 40 mph issue as well, and thought that maybe these things are related?

Anyone have any similar experience? I see that it's really just a cover piece, but I'm worried there might be that much "flex" in the motor.

I'm having a similar issue. Was thinking it was time for a coil and plug change. Let me know if that solves your problem.
