serpentine belt and boost leak...
So....with 100k miles I do a visual check of the serp belt and see many small cracks. I check with suncoast and 110 for a belt? Being a smart ****, I find that it's a 7 rib 2880 belt. I look up gator belt just like the 20 buck one I run on my 996 and find one for 15 bucks.... Spend freakin 4 hours taking the old one off and putting the new one on....longest serp belt I've put on wrap up everything and take a look at the original.
Darn freaking Porsche...it's double sided 7 rib. I just ordered one for 110. I'm sure I'll be fine for the time being as it runs fine with my single ribbed gator belt.
Truck's been building boost a little slow and doesn't feel like it's 500hp. I find that the boost hose that goes into the n75 valve is torn. It seems like a common issue 996 957...I replace the hose and it pulls but now boost guage goes up to and past .8 on full throttle As far as I know, it's stock tune

ok...so how do i do a boost leak test on the truck? 996's you take off the intercooler hose and block both ends and test to 20psi...very simple. Not sure where to test at on the truck. Anybody do a boost leak test?
