Idle hunting

Hey there, I am about to sign on a 2007 Turbo from Porsche, has that 1 year warranty etc. The only problem is when the car starts from cold, the idle rises and drops continuously until warm, but after a 5 minute drive the idle stays constant. Can someone help that might have experienced something similar. My fathers c class mercedes does the same thing but all the time, not only when its cold, his vehicle has 260,000km so i would assume some vacuum leak somewhere due to age.

Porsche say this idle hunting is normal but I disagree and would like to get some info to get them looking in the right place. Its quite pronounced and you can't pull away smoothly when it is doing this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't confirm if it is a problem or not. Mine with 173.000km the idle only increases on cold start and after a minute or less it drops to normal. A second check to another Porsche mechanic might be useful.
