Sounds about right... Does the M3 use synthetic oil and what is the capacity. Porsche only uses Mobile 1 synthetic and all their cars have very high oil capacities (10 qt+), not sure how much the Cayenne but I'm sure it's much more than your M3.

FYI: When I had a VW Passat years ago, it was $130 for an oil change with synthetic, about $45 with stock oil.

We just did an oil change on my Cayenne S last week at my dad's shop. I picked up the oil (it took 9 quarts @ $5.50/quart of Mobile 1 0W40) plus another $15 for the filter from Porsche. So you gotta figure about $70 in parts/oil. That means that some of these places are charging $200+ in labor.

After seeing all the work done, I can kind of see why it would be more than a regular $60-80 oil change after going through it all, but I don't know if I could justify $200 in labor. I guess you're really paying for the expertise though.

(Most of the work was just being careful removing all the trim pieces under the car to get to the oil filter and drain plug(s). The biggest pain in the *** was me *****ing about them being careful putting the car on the lift. I threatened to sue if they got a scratch on the car )
