"Upon cold starts, I'll notice my RPM is higher for about 1-2 minutes then it settles down to regular RPM."

That's Normal. During warm up the car will sound different, as the ECU is in open loop its dumping more fuel to warm up the engine. Reving during cold vs. warmed up you'll hear the difference.

I turned the volume as loud as I can wearing head phones and can't seem to hear the "whine" you mentioned. I hear road noise and exhaust noise.

Did you just notice this issue ? Like you never heard or experience this before?

Hey Kel!

Thanks for having a listen! I am taking it to the indy next week. I have 6 months basic warranty hopefully that will count for something.

As KTI said the higher RPM's are normal during cold start.

By chance do you have a video with the hood popped up so we can hear the engine? I don't know how many miles your car has but idler pulleys can make some weird groaning noise when they start to go bad. Even a failed water pump will make the same noise. I had similar symptoms when my water pump showed signs of failing. These noises will be hard to pin point over the internet and the best advise I can give is get yourself a good mechanics stethoscope.
