Newbie Help

Hi all,

We currently have an X5 3.0 with a lease that is to end soon. The pepper is high on our list as our next car. I am hoping to get help with several questions.

1) We have found a used S with about 23K on the clock. How often can we expect to replace the tires?
2) What is the maintenance schedule like for this car?
3) Brake jobs are really 1K?
4) How does the car deal with snow?
5) We like the Carmen Red color, is this a difficult color to find?

Thanks for the help.

1.) First of all is this a CPO? certified preowned? do you have a bad experience with the X5 with tires? Depends on what you do to the S, I've seen people who had 25K on their original tires and some 10K, so it depends. But I suggest if youre buying from a dealer to make sure it's a CPO(6yr 100K mile warranty) piece of mind
2.) usually the maintenance says every 20K, but people does oil change at 15K or earlier..also before you buy this car make sure all the recalls are done and the 20K service is done
3) I have almost 20K on my CTT, and the brakes are still fine. I've seen rotors at around $500, so 1K is not far if you replace all
4) This SUV is better in the snow than anything out there. no substitute remember? haha but snow tires is a must if you really want it to perform.
5) You should search the porsche preowned list in your area.. it's pretty tough i think...

good luck on your search and hopefully

Welcome to 6speed. I assume by your name that you had emailed me from boatingabc. Good luck with search. Might be helpful to list the following - year, options (air suspension, wheel size, NAV, etc. - tow hitch won't do you much good with a 280ss), price, ?certified pre-owned, buying from dealer or private. As I told you, there are definitely deals out there, so I wouldn't dive in too hard unless it's a steal.
